Every credential is checked with its issuer — never a photocopy, never self-declared. How the check runs differs by country. The standard doesn’t.
A named credentialing specialist checks every credential by hand against the issuing source — and signs it. Licences are confirmed directly on the provincial or territorial college register, identity through Veriff (document + biometric match), and liability coverage with the provider, such as CMPA.

The US offers primary-source APIs, so checks run automatically, in seconds — clinician identity against the federal NPI / NPPES registry, with licence and status lookups against state boards. No waiting on a manual queue, and the audit trail is identical: source, result, timestamp, on record.
